Blightsoul ran after them and stopped at a pool of water. She frowned at Foxfang. "Don't we need to... check for scents?" she asked him. She was pretty sure they had to do more than just sit outside and wait for the other warrior to come back. She sighed, letting it go and started to groom her tail. Still, the faint smell of monster dung reached her nose. She looked up at Foxfang. "Um... How did you know?" she asked vaguely.[/blockquote[

Foxfang obviously knew this question would pop up soon enough. He snickered a bit, and finally sighed at a memory. "Truth." He said simply, before moving on to his reasons. "He has only looked at one other she-cat, the way he looks at you." His eyes weren't joking anymore. They held grim certainty in their depths. He had dropped his paw, and now looked past Blightsoul like he was staring at a completely different cat.

Had she been this oblivious? The way he looked at her... Pshh! He looks at her like any other---she stopped thinking for a moment and summoned a picture of Speedwell in her mind. His eyes were like a liquid emerald, swimming in his eyes. They were so warm and comforting to her. But when he looked away in her vision, his eyes solidified and hardened. She he did look at her differently... She was utterly speechless. How could a kit-like senior warrior catch this and not her? She paused for a moment. "What other she-cat?" she murmured silently, ears flat on her head.

Foxfang leaned back a bit, and came across the name he was looking for, "Willoweyes, was her name. She was very pretty, a very sweet she-cat." The russet tom murmured in a lower voice. "They were apprentices together, very close too. And then they became Warrior's together." Foxfang sighed at the memory, "Willoweyes.. died, the day after her ceremony. She was killed by a badger." Foxfang said sadly, and glanced back at Blightsoul.

Blightsoul winced. "Oh," she murmured sadly. "I must have made Speedwell very scared when I almost... got run-overed... the day after my.. ceremony." She winced. "Oh... Oh, wow." She allowed her ears to droop. She curled her tail around her body and looked down at her paws, ashamed that she asked. She instantly wanted to talk to Speedwell alone, now. She needed to tell him she was sorry for being foolish that day and almost becoming monster-kill right after her ceremony. She was itching to get this patrol over with and talk to Speedwell privately.

Foxfang smiled, "I'm sure he was just happy you were alive." Death was not his favorite subject anymore, so he moved onto the next piece. "You know, Speedwell was my apprentice." Yeah, he was a lot older then he acted. There was a little purr at the thoughts, and he chuckled a bit.

Blightsoul's ears perked up again. "Really?" she asked in awe. So all the stuff she learned came from Speedwell, which came from Foxfang? "Why doesn't Speedwell tell me this stuff?!" She flicked her tail in annoyance. You'd think that if you got close to a cat, they'd tell you everything... Blightsoul shared everything with him!

Foxfang snickered, "He probably didn't think it was necessary." And just a minute afterward, the Warrior came back with narrowed eyes. Foxfang glanced at the younger warrior and tilted his head one way, "So, catch any fox?" He smirked slowly at the warrior's furious gaze.
"Yes, actually." He said briskly, "I just chased it out of the territory. Now let's go." And with that, the lead tom took off again. Foxfang sighed and took off after him easily. After this, they'd be back in camp.

Blightsoul, being so small, had to put in more effort to keep up with the larger toms. She quickly ran out of breath, but she pushed on. "Where.... are.... we... going... now?" she asked between pants.

Foxfang glanced back at Blightsoul, "You can't be tired already. What are you a kitty-pet?" He laughed and sped forward, past the warrior, and turned around to stop the patrol. "Hey, mouse-brain, Speedwell's patrol covered ShadowClan border already. So let's go back." Foxfang barked the orders to the younger tom. The warrior narrowed his eyes, and turned back for camp. Foxfang let out a snicker, and raced ahead again and back to camp.

Blightsoul tapped into her feral energy and pushed past the other warrior, despite her size. She caught up to Foxfang, her breath under control, but he beat her to the camp by a fox length. She stopped in the clearing, panting and in the need for water. "I'll beat you next time!" she growled to the red tom. First, she had to find Speedwell. She ran everywhere and couldn't find him. Finally, she ran into the medicine cat den and found him talking to the medicine cat. Alarmed, she padded to him. "Speedwell! Is everything okay?" she asked, alarmed.

Speedwell turned to Blightsoul with a questioning look. He was absolutely fine by the looks of it. It was cute how she worried so easily, and that made him smile. "Don't worry, I'm fine," He purred an said a quick good-bye to the Medicine Cat. The tom stepped out of the den easily, with Blightsoul next to him. "So, how did the patrol go?" Speedwell asked curiously.

Blightsoul started to usher Speedwell out of the camp by pushing him. "It was fine. I'm really thirsty, though.. Mind coming with me?" she asked. Today was probably the most she's talked in her life. She was so estatic, she couldn't contain herself anymore. She had to talk to Speedwell alone, and she swore an oath to StarClan. She swore that if she caught Foxfang snooping on them, she would personally pin him down and nip his ear. She kept ushering Speedwell out of the Clan clearing.

Speedwell blinked with confusion, and let himself be pushed out of camp. "Sure?" He said simply. The two went to the nearest stream, where Speedwell turned around and looked at the she-cat. "Something wrong, Blightsoul?" Speedwell asked with a minor tilt to his head.

Blightsoul lashed her tail and looked at him silently as she summoned the courage to tell him. When she finally got her courage, it all came out at once. "I'm really sorry for being reckless right after my warrior ceremony--I didn't know about Willoweyes then. Foxfang told me about her and how you look at her like you look at me and I found out it's true.... Speedwell..." She paused, looking at her paws. "Foxfang said you liked me.. And not like a regular warrior to apprentice does.... I wanted to get you alone... to ask..." She was gnawing the ground with her sheathed claws, her blue eyes fierce on the ground. She forgot her thirst. She forgot her Clan. All that mattered right now was Speedwell's answer.
[What if Speedwell said no? O:]
