Speedwell's eyes widened immensely. Without really thinking, his paws started propelling him forward. After a second of reacting on instinct, he bounded towards Blightsoul and the monster. He wouldn't reach her in time. This couldn't be happening. "Blightsoul!" He yowled as if it'd stop time or move her out of the way. It wouldn't, and she was just standing there. StarClan save her! After another few moments, his paws felt numb and he began slowing down. It was StarClan's decision now.

There was a deafening roar, and darkness surrounded the white cat. Everything seemed to go in slow motion. Something hard, and sharp skimmed her back, leaving a very thin cut. Finally, the monster was running away and Blightsoul just lay there, unmoving. She opened her blue eyes and saw that she truly was still alive. She looked down to see that the rabbit tried to run away and it got smooshed by the tire of the monster. She was incredibly glad she chose to duck.
She saw Speedwell and ran to him, the fear still striking her core. She ran underneath his legs, to press against his belly. Her whole white coat was soiled with black stuff, making her look like a black cat. Her whole frame was shaking like a leaf and her blue eyes were still wide. She hid under Speedwell like she normally did when she was an apprentice. Go being small!

Speedwell's eyes remained widened with shock as he stared down at the filfthy cat beneath him. She was alive? After all that? There was a little sigh of relief and he managed to relax his muscles. "Thank StarClan you're alive." He said breathlessly and glanced down under him at the she-cat. Blightsoul was covered in this.. muck, and it smelled disgusting. Not knowing what the muck is, he stepped off her and examined her further. "I think we should wash this off. It doesn't smell safe." He murmured and stepped towards the lake. "Can you walk Blightsoul?" The tom murmured softly. He hoped she hadn't gone into shock.

This black muck was starting to make that painless thin cut sting terribly. With a silent hiss, she nodded, walking to the lake. She kept low to the ground, her ears pressed flat against her skull. Still shivering from the incident, she engulfed herself in the water, padding around in it and ducking down. Some of the muck got into her eyes and stung them, but it went away quickly. She swam back to Speedwell, soaked to the bone. She walked a little ways off and shook herself from some of the water. She then walked back to him, licking all the places she could get. Even if the black muck was gone, you could still slightly smell it. For a moment of shock, she thought the black tip of her tail was muck, but she quickly remembered she was born with that.
She turned her frightened blue eyes to Speedwell. "Remind me to never do that again," she growled. Luckily, her voice was strong. She had gotten over the incident, but she was still shivering. She kept on licking herself, hoping the smell would fade away so her own scent would come up. She tried rolling in RiverClan bushes and grasses, then licking herself, but a hint of it still came up. Fustrated, she stalked back to her previous mentor.

Speedwell smiled sympathetically. "Well, at least it's off of you. That stuff smelled like it could have done some damage." He sniffed her over once and crinkled his nose. The stench was definately there, and probably would be for the next couple of days. The tom could imagine Foxfang complaining right now, it gave him head pangs just thinking about it. He chuckled at the thought though, and smiled again. "Why don't you head back to camp, and I'll finish up hunting here." Speedwell murmured.

Right along her spine, her fur started to turn pink. Even if it was a thin cut, it would bleed. She longed to stay here with Speedwell, but, she had to go to the medicine cat den. She sighed and gave him one last glance before bounding back to the camp. She ran into the den to get fixed.
[ *few minutes later ]
Blightsoul bounded out of the medicine cat den and to the middle of the camp. She was receiving strange looks from other cats. She started to clean herself again, in high hopes that the stench would go away. She made sure to stay away from the cut on her back because there was various medicines on it.
[Could Foxfang come and talk to her while she waits for Speedwell?]

A russet tom with rather thick fur approached the she-cat. The essence of mischief twinkled in his eyes and there was a rather sneaky grin on his face. He told Speedwell he'd get him, oh did he tell him. But he wouldn't listen. His nose quivered and he took a sudden step back. "Augh, what is that?" Foxfang sneezed at the stench. StarClan damn his sensitive nose. "What were you rolling in?" The tom sneezed again and took another step back.

Blightsoul looked at him blankly. "Monster dung," she replied softly, laying in the sun and putting her tail over her nose. She looked straight at the entrance, her back glistening with the wet medicines. The medicine cat tried to give her some poppy seeds, but she really didn't feel any pain.

Foxfang blinked his giant cerulean eyes and stared down at her for a moment. "Really, now?" He said in an amazed tone. His eyes showed curiosity for a moment before they flashed mischievously again. "Did.. Speedwell save you?" The russet tom asked as he sat down a few tail-lengths away from her.

Blightsoul stayed silent for a moment. "I saved myself, but Speedwell was there, and I'm sure he was praying to StarClan. So in a way... Yes." She raised her head to look at Foxfang, her blue eyes dulled in a way. "What's it to you?" she asked, one ear flat on her head, the other perked.

A small, slender birman she-cat stepped from her den, and looked around the camp. She was Sunsetstar, the leader of this clan. She tasted the air quickly, and immediatly she scented monster dung. She followed the scent to two warriors, Foxfang and Blightsoul, a new warrior she had just named. Blightsoul stank. "What in StarClan's name happened?" she asked, glaring at the two, neither looked the slightest bit hurt, only a long cut on Blightsoul's back. "Well?" she hissed, her voice filled with annoyance.

Foxfang snickered and side-stepped out of the glare from the younger she-cat. The senior warrior merely grinned towards Blightsoul, "Don't drag me into this. I wasn't there when it happened." He purred mischievously. Okay, so he wouldn't be able to tell her how Speedwell was madly in love with her, but oh well. "That is Speedwell's problem." The russet tom snickered.

"Speedwell had nothing to do with it!" Blightsoul hissed angrily at the ginger tom. "I chased a rabbit and I tripped and I landed on the thunderpath. A monster came and I ducked. Look, I'm alive! Story over." Fustrated, she left her spot in the clearing and walked into the warriors' den and chancing one last glance at the entrance of the camp. Speedwell wasn't there. Tail drooping, she padded into the den, where she found her empty bed. She curled up into it, her blue eyes dull again. She sort of wanted to be alone. She hated attention. Hated was an understatement--loathed, deplored attention.

Sunsetstar sighed, rolled her eyes and faced Foxfang. "What is she?" she asked, he voice a hiss of annoyance, "A helpless little kit? I need warriors, not a cat who runs onto thunderpaths without any sort of thought." With those words, the leader turned around and began to walk off, quickly checking with the deputy that the patrols were all finished.

Speedwell let out an angry hiss. "She was hunting for the Clan, Sunsetstar." Speedwell growled. "Blightsoul was intent on her hunt, for food, for the Clan. She was made a Warrior yesterday, she's bound to make some mistakes." The rabbit-furred tom defended his former apprentice boldly. He had not even had time to come back and report, but she was already jumping to conclusions.
Foxfang glanced between the two before following Blightsoul into the Warriors den. He was determined to reveal his friend's dark secret, and would get his way. "Hey, hey, Blightsoul." The tom snickered and stepped around to face her. "Do you know why Speedwell wanted to save you so much?" He asked quietly, and then raised his voice. "Because. He. Loves. You." And he'll thank me one day, yes he will. Foxfang purred victoriously and padded back out of the den.
